The Budget Process
The Diocesan Budget process begins in the spring with the Ways & Means Committee working with the Board of Directors to create a draft discussion budget. During the late summer this draft discussion budget is made available for review and comments. After considering this input and updated information, the Board of Directors approves a proposed budget at their September meeting that is presented to delegates for approval at Diocesan Convention in October.
2026 Draft Discussion Budget
The Board of Directors is making this 2026 Draft Discussion Budget available for discussion over the summer. This discussion budget is unusual in that we are asking you to engage with us in a summer exercise to reflect on two different approaches: A “Business As Usual” version and a “Low Program” version.
Your input is important as we seek to determine where our 2026 budget could best be set to allow room to navigate toward the future. We expect your input will help us create a version that convention will be able to approve. You can provide your input in the following ways:

2) Talk about this budget in your congregations and send your comments to financial@iowaepiscopal.org.
