Diocesan Coordinator Team:

The Rev. Diane Eddy and Mr. David Eddy

For more information or if you are interested in becoming a UTO Coordinator for your congregation, please contact the coordinators at uto@iowaepiscopal.org

UTO's mission is to expand the circle of thankful people by encouraging daily prayers, offerings and awareness of the abundance of God’s blessings.

UTO originated in 1889 as part of the Women’s Auxiliary to the Board of Missions. Emphasis was on mission work in the U.S. and overseas, and support and training for women working in the church. UTO has grown into a ministry of the whole church – men, women and children.

UTO is a spiritual and financial partner in the mission work of The Episcopal Church, through every person in every pew. UTO is entrusted to promote thank offerings, to receive the offerings, and to distribute the United Thank Offering monies through grants.

The focus of UTO Grants for the 2026-2029 triennium is inspired

by scripture:
“But let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.” (Amos 5:24)

and tradition:
“In love we escape from our self into one another. In the moral sphere, every act of justice or charity involves putting ourselves in the other person’s place and thus transcending our own competitive particularity. In coming to understand anything we are rejecting the facts as they are for us in favor of the facts as they are. The primary impulse of each is to maintain and aggrandize himself. The secondary impulse is to go out of the self, to correct its provincialism and heal its loneliness.” (C.S. Lewis, An Experiment in Criticism)
