New Hire Announcement: Canon for Administration

Dear siblings in Christ,

I am thrilled to share the news with you today that I have called Donna Wong-Gibbons to the new staff position of Canon for Administration. Donna is a long-time member of Trinity, Iowa City, and has served on the diocesan board of directors since 2024. She has worked at UIowa Health Care in a variety of administrative and supervisory positions since 2012. In addition to excellent communication skills, she has extensive experience in financial management, event planning, and supervision of both processes and staff members.

As Canon for Administration, Donna will join Meg Wagner, Canon to the Ordinary, as part of the executive leadership team. Donna’s work will include oversight of communications, finance, property, and human resources. She will begin on staff on June 15th. Please join me in welcoming Donna to the staff of the Episcopal Diocese of Iowa!

As a lifelong Episcopalian, my life has always been shaped by faith and worship (even when I didn't realize it). Over the last 20+ years in Iowa, I have seen our world and our state transformed. And yet, our work as disciples of Jesus - to love God and to love one another - remains constant even as our practices and ministries evolve to adapt to an ever changing world. Together with Bishop Monnot, Canon Wagner, the rest of the staff and volunteers, and the people of the Episcopal Diocese of Iowa, I look forward to seeing where the Spirit leads us tomorrow and in the days to come.
