In prayer we are truly a part of the 85 million people on six continents who call themselves Anglican (or Episcopalian), in more than 165 countries.

What is the Joint Intercession List?

A list of people, ministries, and congregations in our diocese and our companion dioceses that we have committed to pray for each day of the month. An “intercession” is simply prayer for another or others, and the Joint Intercession List a tool for us to use during our daily prayers.

The Dioceses of Brechin, Iowa, Nzara, and Eswatini pray for each other so that we may truly support each other and God’s work among us.

How do I use it?

If you are using the Book of Common Prayer you will find the appropriate place to include these people whenever “intercessions are offered” either in silence or aloud (that’s often just before the General Thanksgiving).

Who do I pray for each day?

  1. The archbishop of the Anglican Communion and the bishops leading the churches and dioceses we pray for daily — find on page 2

  2. The people listed in each diocese and church for the day — find today’s day of the month starting on page 3

  3. Anyone with an anniversary listed on the day — find deacon, priest, ministry development team and bishop anniversaries starting on page 19 and on graphics below

We recommend using our Joint Intercession List together with the Anglican Cycle of Prayer: a 3 year cycle that reminds us to pray for a different Anglican diocese or province each day.
