The Diocese of Iowa is partnering with The Episcopal Church’s office of Church Planting and Redevelopment on a process called Genesis II: Re-vision and Renew.

Seven congregations from across the state are participating in Genesis II and will get up to 2 years of FREE coaching, support, and resources from trained leaders in The Episcopal Church that are focused on helping develop more faithful, healthy and effective communities of faith.

These are churches that are or want to be more:

  • focused on and faithful to their unique mission in their community

  • engaged in that mission with their neighbors in ways that nurture authentic relationships marked by mutuality, vulnerability, and accountability.

  • sustainable or working toward greater sustainability in terms of a fit between all of the elements of their organizational life: vision, leadership, culture, size, property, finances, etc.

Each of the seven churches has lay leaders who have committed to come together 2x per month on Zoom for 90-minute sessions under the leadership of a coaches trained in group coaching and experienced in church leadership.
