The goal of Companions in Ministry is to foster healthy and life-giving relationships among clergy in the diocese — both during and beyond critical periods of transition in our ministries. We plan to have some meetings in person and some meetings on Zoom, sometimes in one large group and sometimes in cohorts of clergy in similar ministries.

We envision building together an active learning community of colleagues focused on:

  • praying with and for each other and our congregations

  • sharing resources for addressing core challenges for congregations and clergy in times of transition and change

  • orienting new clergy to diocesan structures, ministries, and procedures

  • building relationships with our bishop and diocesan staff

  • sharing stories and experiences

  • tending to our own spiritual nourishment and self-care

All stipendiary clergy should have a letter of agreement that stipulates that attendance at these sessions is to be considered work time and that travel to and from is to be covered by the church. If you are non-stipendiary or if your church is unable to cover the costs of your attendance, please reach out to one of us and let us know so we can help you with those costs.
