Ministry Development Team Forums

In the first five years of the Bishop’s episcopacy in the diocese of Iowa, we have worked to revitalize our efforts to live out baptismal ministry in mission with Christ through each and all, in a variety of ways, including the creation and formation of Ministry Development Teams. You are invited to attend one of two Ministry Development Team Forums:

Fall Trip to Swaziland
Plans are underway for an October trip for mission and to help celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the Diocese of Swaziland. The deadline for making a commitment for the 2008 Swaziland Trip is May 8, 2008 (A non-refundable deposit of $100 must be received by May 28)

International Development Grants

Churches in the Diocese of Iowa now have until June 1 to submit a Grant proposal to the One World One Church Commission. $10,000 has been budgeted for projects for the Millennium Development Goals internationally. If you have a project that could qualify, please submit an application form by June 1, 2008.

2007 Parochial Report

The annual parochial report is not only a requirement of the Episcopal Church, but even more importantly it is a tool for the collection of data that is intended to assist the Church in planning for mission. The 2007 Parochial Report forms have been mailed directly to congregations. The deadline for filing the 2007 Report is May 1, 2008.

Safeguarding Online

The Episcopal Diocese of Iowa is pleased to be one of the first dioceses nationwide to launch Safeguarding Online, a new Internet-based training of Safeguarding God's Children that trains our employees and volunteers how to keep children in our care safe from abuse. This spring, the Safeguarding Online training will be able to be accessed anytime with a high-speed internet connection. MORE>>
