Feasting on Gratitude
Feasting on Gratitude is a six-week stewardship narrative series developed by The Episcopal Church Office of Stewardship which congregations can integrate into adult formation, small group study, or use it to simply spark ideas for preaching Matthew’s Gospel in the month of October, a time when most congregations are engaged in their annual giving campaigns.
Feasting on Gratitude is based on the Gospel readings of Matthew, inviting readers to reflect and discuss stewardship principles and practices. Designed to complement and support a congregation's annual giving campaign, each of the six contributing writers explores stewardship, giving, gratitude and generosity in connection with the Gospel reading for each Sunday from October 2 through November 6, All Saints Sunday. Each week you can download a PDF of the Gospel reflection that encourages us to recognize, as William Stringfellow writes, that all life, including money, is a gift and the only way to honor such a gift is to give it away.
To view the Feasting on Gratitude series and to download the weekly reflections in English and Spanish, visit www.thestewardswell.org. To view the bulletin insert for August 28th announcing the series, visit http://www.episcopalchurch.org/126259_ENG_HTM.htm
