Prison Ministries The Rev. Anne Moats Williams annewill@n-connect.net
The Episcopal Diocese of Iowa has numerous locations in which ministry to those affected by incarceration is carried out. There are individuals and groups in all areas of the Diocese to whom this ministry is vital. Some are visiting our state and local prisons and jails while others are engaged in restorative justice ministries and ministries to the victims of crime and the families of the incarcerated. The Justice, Peace and Intregity of Creation Commission (JPIC) works toward supporting and empowering its prison ministry team at Anamosa State Penitentiary and the Church of the Damascus Road (a statewide ecumenical ministry for inmates and staff). JPIC also supports the halfway house called Jeremiah House established in Waterloo. This is the 4th year that there has been an Education for Ministry group (EFM) at Anamosa State Penitentiary.
