Investment Committee
The Investment Committee is a sub-committee of the Commission on Stewardship and Planned Giving. The central duty of the Investment Committee is to review and evaluate the performance of investments of the Episcopal Corporation of the Diocese of Iowa. All investments are in the Diocesan Foundation Fund. Performance is evaluated based on financial objectives and guidelines determined by the Committee. Those objectives and guidelines are reviewed and adjusted as necessary. Harris Investment Management, Inc. manages most of the Foundation’s investments. The Episcopate Fund is invested through A.G. Edwards & Sons and a Standard and Poor’s 500 Index Fund. Loring, Wolcott and Coolidge is the advisor on “social responsibility” in investments.
The Committee has a very long-term outlook for the Foundation investment portfolio. A great portion of portfolio assets have been allocated to a growth-oriented strategy.
The Committee encourages every mission and parish to use the investment services available through the Foundation Fund. An endowment fund is available to receive gifts for the Diocese.
