Cedar Valley Episcopal Campus Ministry
Regional Campus Ministry to:
University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls
Wartburg College, Waverly
Allen College, Waterloo
Hawkeye Community College, Waterloo
The Rev. Maureen Doherty mcdiniowa@aol.com
Formerly the campus ministry at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, this new venture serves the students of four collegiate level institutions by encouraging more program collaboration among the Episcopal churches serving the region, and dovetailing with public programs offered by Canterbury Forum. Canterbury Forum is a collaborative project among mainstream and progressive religious communities in the Cedar Valley. Its purpose is to explore religious issues and the relationship between religion and the broader culture – including science, history, and the arts – from the perspective of the religious mainstream. The Forum encourages all who regard faith and reason as partners rather than antagonists in shaping our understanding of ourselves and our world, to join the effort of planning and directing the Forum and its activities. Its programs typically draw 60-80 or more attendees, including some college-aged students.
